To be board certified in Plastic Surgery, it requires that you graduate from an accredited medical school, complete at least 5 years of hospital based surgical residency, followed by a minimum of 2 years of plastic surgery fellowship and pass comprehensive oral and written exams.  Dr. Sommerhaug manages a wide variety of problems relating to the face and body. He practices a full scope of plastic surgery with expertise in Cosmetic and Reconstructive surgery. Dr. Sommerhaug is board certified in General Surgery by the American Board of General Surgery and in Plastic Surgery by The American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS).
